Did you miss our Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) and Denver adventure in real-time on Instagram? No worries! We’ve brought it all right here for you to enjoy on Expedia Viewfinder.
We've arrived at the gateway to @rockynps – perfectly situated Estes Park, Colorado and this haunted hotel. Rocky Mountain NP is the only “Top 10” National Park that we have not visited. We spend a lot of time in nature and usually take a very immersive approach. For this @expedia assignment, we’re doing things a bit differently. Charged with the task of appealing to what a range of travelers might enjoy on such an adventure, we’ve got a variety of experiences mapped out. For starters, we're staying at the ghostly, world-famous Stanley Hotel to kick things off. All work and no play makes the NVR Guys very dull boys. <— haha
The climax of yesterday’s hike (see previous picture) was this – Gem Lake. As we got closer and closer to our 9000-feet-high destination, we found ourselves hiking uphill on snow and ice (with strained breathing!). It was WAY worth it, though, to enjoy this beaut of a frozen lake, which is comprised entirely of snowmelt and rainwater. The mind-bending rock formations and general scenery on the way up were spectacular too.
Be sure to check out our other posts so that you can piece together your own dream adventure to Colorado. Also, our co-Viewfinders visited other National Parks that might be of interest to you.
